Chibi Anime Papercraft - Sarina Kashiwara

Papercraft designer Atom has done it again, here's another cute creation from his Glue2 Chronicle site. This chibi-type anime papercraft is from the same series that we previously posted (Kira Kira) and is named Sarina Kashiwara. The first one that we featured was the Kirari Siino papercraft back in January, along with some of Atom's other great works. This Sarina Kashiwara papercraft has two versions, one has her carrying an electric guitar while the other has her arms stretch out on the sides.

Update from the ~terrase web site. Ok, so I received some e-mail questions from anime fans about some papercrafts I labeled as anime but does not really belong to any particular series. I always try my best to put a proper title to papercrafts, specially if it's related to a particular TV series, film, or video game.

With this post I used the word anime not in reference to any particular animation series but anime as a character design technique (large eyes, stylistic facial expressions, etc..). This chibi-type anime school girl papercraft is from the same designer that brought us the Kitsune and Pumpkin Musume paper models, it is named Sun S - I think?

Sankichi Armored Robot Papercraft

There's nothing more we like here than cute robot paper models, here is an update from the Peparoido Project site featuring the Sankichi Armored Robot Papercraft. It's a fantasy site of the designer filled with robotic creations ranging from armored nekobots (catbots) to cute chibibots. The designer named it Sankichi, probably after the 1940's samurai movie. Although there's alot on the picture there's actually just one pattern for it - you have to print it on colored cardstock paper to get that variation, the rest is for the Sankichi robot's gadgets and weapons. Yeah, it looks like a cross between Yoshimitsu and R2-D2.

Chibi Anime Papercraft - Kira Kira (Kirari Siino)

I've never posted any stuff from the Glue2 Chronicle? site before, but it's got a bunch of cool looking paper models so they'll get their proper intro to Paperkraft.net today. I'm not really sure how to pronounce their site name, is it Glue Two or Glue Squared or Glue Glue? The site's owner and designer is named "atom" and we'll just leave it at that.

On to the goods, the most recent update on their site features a Japanese PC game character called Kirari Siino, she's the main character of "Kira Kira". This is a chibi-style papercaft model, it comes complete with a guitar and microphone with stand. Their site is easy to navigate so you won't have problems looking for the download links and instructions.

There are two other papercrafts in particular that has gotten my attention. First, there's this weird and at the same time cool looking paper model of what looks like a half-human bird with some sort of helmet on which he simply called "helmet bird". It's very weird looking so you'll have to see the pic below to understand what I'm talking about. It's taken from a 15th century triptych painting called "The Garden of Earthly Delights" by Hieronymus Bosch, a painter from the Netherlands whose works often depicts sin and the evil of men. He like to use images of nude humans, demons and half-human animals.



The second papercraft is called the "letter bird", this one is from Bosch's other painting called "Temptaion of Saint Anthony". I'm definitely going to build both of this birds and add it to my display case.
